Installing TL-WN821N V5 on Ubuntu 16.10

This tutorial showing 2 ways to install Install TL-WN821N V5 on Ubuntu 16.10 LTS Xenial Xerus. The first method uses the internet connection; the second without internet connection.

Internet Connection

If you have an active internet connection you can install the driver for TP-Link(TL-WN821N) with this several command

sudo apt-get install build-essential linux-headers-generic dkms git
git clone https://github.com/Mange/rtl8192eu-linux-driver.git
sudo dkms add ./rtl8192eu-linux-driver
sudo dkms install rtl8192eu/1.0

Reboot

Without Internet Connection

But if you do not have an active internet connection download driver for TP-Link(TL-WN821N) from

https://github.com/Mange/rtl8192eu-linux-driver/archive/master.zip

Transfer the file to the Ubuntu install, then extract it to the desktop. Then in terminal

cd Desktop
sudo dkms add ./rtl8192eu-linux-driver
sudo dkms install rtl8192eu/1.0

Reboot
